For ages 13-18
This clinic will maximize athletic performance while minimizing the occurrence of injuries in a safe training environment.
Athletes will build muscle, increase mental toughness and improve performance.

For ages 9-14 (Age is determined by child's age as of 9/1/2024.)
This clinic will take players through progressive development techniques based on their mastery of basketball and movement skills. Players will also be put through various conditioning drills that will be tracked weekly as to measure physical improvement in speed, explosiveness, change of direction, endurance and other attributes. The goal of the clinic is to get players in "basketball" shape while improving skill level and understanding of the game.

For ages 7-18 (Age is determined by child's age as of 12/31/24. No exceptions can be made for younger siblings.)

NEW THIS YEAR: High school athletes currently competing on a high school track and field team should register for section 02 (for ages 14-18 High School Track Athletes).
High school athletes MUST register during open registration, March 11th - 25th, in order to compete once their high school season is over.

The Mount Pleasant Track Club is a competitive TRAVEL TEAM for athletes of all levels. This travel team participates in USATF sanctioned events throughout the southeast, as well as the National Junior Olympics.
Every athlete and parent who registers is expected to be committed to the program. We aim to teach goal setting and striving to achieve those goals.
Every athlete is expected to compete in as many of the developmental meets as possible. Track meets take place locally and throughout the region. It is the parent's responsibility to get their child to the competition.
We are committed to the success of every child and we expect the same from every parent and athlete.

Additional fees:
$150 Booster Club fee ($135 for an additional child)
$40-$80 Uniform fee

Optional long distance practice: Sundays at 5:00pm.

For GIRLS, Grades 5 - 8
This clinic will help young volleyball players learn and develop the basic skills of volleyball as well as improve on skills that they have already learned.
The players will learn basic skills that include serving, passing, setting and hitting.

For BOYS, Grades 6-8 and 9-12
This 5-week program is designed for volleyball players of all levels looking to get exposure to more advanced training in preparation for the last month of club season or pre-high school/middle school season.
The training is provided by Wando Boys Volleyball staff, current Region 6-AAAAA Coach of the Year, MVP Coach, former collegiate and professional player, Bruno Kretzschmar.

For ages 8-18* (Age is determined by child's age as of 9/1/2024. No age waivers will be considered) *18 year-olds must be in high school at the time of registration.

Age groups: 8, 9/10, 11/12, 13/14, 15/16, 17/18. Boys and girls play separate in all leagues.
Teams are NOT created according to schools. No team registration. Computer generated player selection. Requests for specific teams/coaches are not considered.
Players register for North/South. Teams divided North/South if participation numbers permit. Practices will take place in designated North or South facility. Games will be all over town and not solely North or South Mount Pleasant.
Siblings placed on the same team if they are in the same age division. The designated head coach is allowed to have his/her child/children on their team.

REGISTRATION: You may register online at ww.mtpleasantrec.com or at one of the following locations: R.L. Jones Center, Park West Recreation Complex and G.M. Darby Building. Make checks payable to Mount Pleasant Recreation Department.

FEES: Residents - $ 60.00, Non-residents - $120.00.
Waitlist opens: 4/9/24. Waitlist registration can be completed at any MPRD facility, online, or via telephone. However, team placement is not guaranteed. Registration from the waitlist requires a $13.00 late fee.

EVALUATIONS: No evaluations for Recreation League.

MPRD will supply each child with a game jersey. The MPRD issued jersey is the only jersey allowed to be worn during games. Players are required to wear ONLY Basketball shoes. Shorts with pockets and/or zippers are not allowed. Jewelry such as, but not limited to, rings, earrings, bracelets, etc. are not allowed during practices and games.

This 6 week instructional program is designed to prepare players for the upcoming fall football season.
Instruction will be provided by MPRD football coaches and players and include specific position drills, conditioning and speed training.
There will be no tackling, so pads and helmets are not needed. However, a mouthpiece and rubber cleats are recommended.

If this is your child's first time participating in youth athletics, you must provide an original or certified copy of birth certificate or passport.

NEW NAME: Mount Pleasant FC (formerly Challenger Soccer)

NOTE: Tryouts will be held for those athletes looking to play in the Mount Pleasant FC soccer league. All players must register for evaluations (activity code 114SOC002). Tryouts are FREE. Once evaluations have concluded, coaches will contact and invite the selected players to their team. Selected players will need to enroll and pay the Mount Pleasant FC soccer fees at that time.

EVALUATION DATES & TIMES: All evaluations will be held at the Carolina Park Complex (1620 Ben Marino Way)
U9 through U12: May 6th and 7th, 5:30pm - 8:00pm
U13 through U19: May 8th and 9th, 5:30pm - 8:00pm
